SPIDER AND VARICOSE VEIN TREATMENT

Be rid of unsightly spider and varicose veins - it's simple, fast and effective.
Spider veins are the thread-like veins seen on the surface of the skin. Varicose veins are
larger veins which will often bulge from the skin. Although most commonly seen in the legs, veins may be present on
the face and other parts of the body as well. We can erase these veins by lasers and/or sclerotherapy. The laser
produces a beam of light which is selectively absorbed by the hemoglobin in the vein; thereby, minimizing damage to
the surrounding skin. Sclerotherapy uses chemicals to effectively glue the vein shut.
There is virtually no down time. Procedures can be done during your lunch hour. Multiple
treatments may be necessary for optimal results.
FAQ
Is vein therapy safe? Yes, if done under the guidance of a trained
physician with the proper equipment. The laser beam targets only the hemoglobin in the veins, essentially sparing
the remainder of the skin. This selective technology allows for the high level of safety in this procedure.
Sclerotherapy involves very tiny needles that put medicine to seal the vein.
Are there any side effects? You are able to continue with your normal day
immediately after treatment, however for leg veins only you are advised to use ace bandages for 5 days after
treatment. Your skin may appear slightly red after the treatment, a small amount of healing/scabbing may persists
for several weeks for some patients. Afterwards, clear & beautiful vein free skin is the goal.
Is laser vein removal permanent? Yes. Once a vein is closed that
particular vein will disappear.
How does the laser work? The laser specifically targets the hemoglobin in
veins. The heat generated from this process safely and permanently closes the vein.
How much time does the procedure take? The time it takes depends on the
amount of area being treated. Small nasal or leg veins can take just a few minutes, large areas on the legs can
take 45 minutes to one hour.
Is laser therapy painful? At worst, some patients describe a feeling of a
rubber band snapping against their skin with laser therapy. At Couture Laser and Skin we have a few ways of
minimizing any discomfort to ensure a relaxing experience. Our lasers have a specialized cooling device built in,
which makes the procedure much more comfortable. We also offer to prescribe topical anesthetic so not much
discomfort is felt at all.
How many treatments are needed? The number of treatments vary with the
body area and vein type being treated. In general about 1-2 treatments are required for facial veins, and 4-6
treatments for leg veins for optimal results.
